Richboro History

In the fall of 1978 while on the way to picnicking along the Delaware River near Washington Crossing a beautiful historic home came into view. The sale sign beckoned us to venture up the tree lined driveway and begin to walk around the property. On it stood a magnificent fieldstone farmhouse that radiated the history of Bucks County. We peeked in all the windows and instantly fell in love with the possibility of expanding our Lawndale funeral home location to the suburban area. We later learned that this captivating home was built circa 1740 and had been placed on the National Register of Historic Places by the Department of the Interior on June 5, 1975. On December 21, 1978, after settlement, our family immediately drove to Richboro to hang a Christmas wreath on the main front door of our beautiful new home. It was a holiday filled with excitement as we contemplated our future and all that life had in store for our family. Over the following year we met with architects and contractors to design a complimentary addition which would become our funeral home. We anxiously awaited serving our first family and by August of 1982 the construction was complete and our journey began.
